About the role#
The Department of Art, Art History, and Architecture needs a student assistant to help with office operations. This position requires 8 to 10 hours of work per week during the Fall 2026 semester. You will report to Debbi DeWeese and department chair David Salomon.
What you'll do#
- Handle daily filing and mail distribution.
- Create and hang posters around campus.
- Perform daily checks of classrooms and the Handwerker Gallery.
- Report any facility issues to your supervisor.
- Assist with department field trips and special events.
- Complete other tasks as they arise.
What you'll need#
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with graphic arts skills.
- Preference is given to students majoring or minoring in Art, Art History, or Architecture.

- This position is located in Ithaca, New York.
- Work is on-site.
- This is a paid, part-time student position.
- Employment is contingent upon a criminal background check and completion of I-9 eligibility requirements.
