About the role#
This internship is designed for students currently enrolled in a four-year or community college who are interested in learning the foundations of campus ministry. The role focuses on spiritual growth, developing ministry skills, and discerning a call to service within the organization. This is a paid, on-site position located at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the campus ministry team to help cast spiritual vision and achieve goals for growth.
- Teach students how to study, love, and apply Scripture to their daily lives.
- Promote the organization's mission by fostering witnessing communities that are ethnically diverse and bold.
- Proclaim the Gospel and assist in strategic planning for campus outreach.
- Model and encourage a love for God's people across different cultures and ethnicities.
- Engage in ongoing training and supervision provided by your staff ministry director.
- Serve as an ambassador for the ministry to churches and individual partners.
What you'll need#
- You are a follower of Jesus Christ and can annually affirm the Statement of Agreement.
- You possess a developing passion for evangelism.
- You demonstrate key leadership qualities, including initiative, self-awareness, cross-cultural competence, and relational maturity.
- You are eager to learn, professional, and capable of working effectively within a team.
- Relevant academic backgrounds include Philosophy, Political Science, Communications, Psychology, or Human Resources.
