About the role#
This internship focuses on learning the basics of college campus ministry at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. It is designed for students currently enrolled in college who want to grow in their spiritual understanding, biblical knowledge, and ministry skills. You will work alongside the campus ministry team to help students mature as disciples of Jesus Christ.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the campus ministry team to cast spiritual vision and execute plans for growth and transformation.
- Teach students how to study, love, and apply Scripture to their daily lives.
- Promote the mission on campus by helping build communities that are ethnically diverse and bold in their witness.
- Proclaim and demonstrate the Gospel while helping students develop strategic thinking regarding their witness to the university.
- Encourage a prayerful lifestyle among students, including those who do not yet follow Jesus.
- Act as an ambassador for the organization to local churches and ministry partners.
- Engage with the training and supervision provided by your staff ministry director.
What you'll need#
- You are a follower of Jesus Christ and can annually affirm the InterVarsity Statement of Agreement.
- You possess a developing passion for evangelism.
- You demonstrate leadership qualities such as self-awareness, initiative, and cultural competence.
- You show professionalism, an eagerness to learn, and the ability to work well within a team.
- This role is open to students currently enrolled in a four-year or community college.

- Funding: Compensation is funded through personal fundraising. Your salary depends on your ability to secure a donor team to cover the costs.
