About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to learn the basics of college campus ministry. You will work with a team to cast vision and gain hands-on experience in spiritual leadership. This position is open to students currently enrolled in a four-year or community college. Specific eligibility regarding year standing depends on the type of institution you attend.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the campus ministry team to support spiritual growth and transformation.
- Teach students to study, love, and apply Scripture to their daily lives.
- Promote the mission on campus by building communities that are bolder, broader, and ethnically diverse.
- Proclaim the Gospel and help students develop strategic ways to witness to the university.
- Encourage a prayerful lifestyle among students, including those who do not yet follow Jesus.
- Act as an ambassador for the organization to ministry partners and churches.
- Engage with training and supervision from your director or staff ministry trainer.
What you'll need#
- You are a follower of Jesus Christ and can annually affirm the Statement of Agreement.
- A developing passion for evangelism.
- Leadership qualities including initiative, self-awareness, and professionalism.
- Ability to work well in a team and demonstrate cross-cultural competence.
- An eagerness to learn and grow in your own faith and ministry skills.
- Preferred academic backgrounds include Communications, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, English, or Philosophy.
Location & details#
- This role is based in the San Diego region, California.
- The position is part-time and on-site.
- This is a paid internship, though compensation is funded through personal fundraising. You will be responsible for securing a donor team to cover the cost of your salary.
