About the role#
This internship focuses on learning the fundamentals of college campus ministry. It is open to students currently enrolled in a four-year institution or community college. Second-year students and community college students may intern at two-year or community colleges, while students with third-year standing or higher may work at four-year or community colleges. Non-InterVarsity students attending a Christian college must have third or fourth-year standing.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the campus ministry team to help cast spiritual vision and direction.
- Contribute to the team's plans for spiritual growth and transformation.
- Teach students to study, love, and apply Scripture to their daily lives.
- Promote the mission on campus by building witnessing communities that are bolder, broader, and more ethnically diverse.
- Seek opportunities to proclaim the Gospel and guide chapters in strategic thinking regarding campus witness.
- Model and assist students and faculty in growing in their appreciation for people of every culture and ethnicity.
- Encourage a prayerful lifestyle among students and assist with reporting as assigned.
- Serve as an ambassador for the organization to ministry partners and churches.
- Engage positively with the training and supervision provided by your staff ministry trainer or director.
What you'll need#
- You are a follower of Jesus Christ.
- Ability to annually affirm the InterVarsity Statement of Agreement.
- A developing passion for evangelism.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities including initiative, self-awareness, cultural awareness, professionalism, and cross-cultural competence.
- Strong communication skills, teamwork, and relational maturity.
- An eagerness to learn and grow in ministry skills.
Location & details#
- This position is remote and based in the United States.
- This is a part-time, paid internship.
- The role is funded through personal fundraising, and compensation is based on the individual's ability to secure a donor team.
