Student Intern - Athletes InterVarsity (Focus Ministry)

About the role#

This internship provides an opportunity for students to learn the fundamentals of college campus ministry. The role focuses on spiritual growth, biblical knowledge, and developing ministry skills as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Interns will work alongside a campus ministry team to discern their call to ministry service and engage in daily spiritual disciplines.

What you'll do#

• Participate in the campus ministry team to cast spiritual vision and contribute to plans for spiritual growth.
• Teach students to study, love, and apply Scripture to their daily lives.
• Promote the mission on campus by witnessing to the university, including developing strategic thinking and encouraging prayerful lifestyles.
• Model and assist students in growing in their love for people of every ethnicity and culture.
• Serve as an ambassador to ministry partners and churches through prayer, discussion of ministry efforts, and sharing accomplishments.
• Engage with supervision and training provided by staff ministry trainers or directors.

What you'll need#

• Must be a follower of Jesus Christ and annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement.
• Currently enrolled in a four-year or community college. Specific standing requirements apply based on the institution type.
• A developing passion for evangelism.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities including initiative, self-awareness, cultural competence, communication, professionalism, and teamwork.
• Preferred academic backgrounds include Communications, Psychology, Sociology, Philosophy, or Public Health.

• Locations: Wisconsin, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Minnesota.
• Modality: On-site.
• Type: Part-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
