The Hinds Community College Ministry Intern position is a one or two-year role designed to provide intensive training and experience in ministerial functions. This full-time position serves as a preparation period for the responsibilities of a Campus Minister. The intern will work closely with the ministry team to advance the organization's mission on campus, with specific duties assigned based on individual skills and the application process.
What you'll do#
- Act as a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ, engaging in daily spiritual disciplines and active participation in a worshipping community.
- Contribute to the ministry team by casting spiritual vision, developing strategy, and supporting transformation plans.
- Teach students to study and apply Scripture while assisting in leadership for students and faculty.
- Provide pastoral care, support, and training to help students and faculty in their spiritual development.
- Perform administrative tasks, including compliance with organizational policies, budgeting, and reporting requirements.
- Serve as an ambassador for the ministry to partners and churches, which includes developing and maintaining a personal donor team for funding.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student with prior leadership experience in an InterVarsity Chapter.
- Ability to annually affirm the Statement of Agreement, including the Doctrinal Basis and Purpose Statement.
- Commitment to abide by the Code of Conduct and behave consonantly with the Human Sexuality Theological Paper and the Women in Ministry Statement of Affirmation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to undergo training to become a Campus Staff Minister.
- Academic background in fields such as Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, International Relations, Anthropology, History, English, Communications, Philosophy, Public Health, Health Administration, Nursing, or Biomedical Sciences.

- Compensation: This is a paid position; however, the salary is funded through personal fundraising, and the final amount depends on the individual's ability to secure a donor team.
