About the role#
The Design Intern role within Creative Labs supports the visual identity and brand of InterVarsity/USA. This role is for a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ who is eager to grow their design skills while contributing to the ministry. You will work on various visual resources, ranging from digital and print projects to photography tasks.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with clients and your supervisor to define the scope and purpose of design projects.
- Research and conceptualize visual treatments, then present drafts for feedback.
- Implement agreed-upon edits and prepare final deliverables for print or digital use.
- Create and distribute design templates for staff use.
- Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and provide feedback on other team members' work.
- Maintain organized design files and image archives.
- Stay current with communication trends, computer systems, and design software.
- Manage your time and equipment responsibly to complete projects within deadlines.
What you'll need#
- An annual affirmation of InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement.
- A commitment to Jesus Christ, his Word, and the church.
- Enrollment in or completion of a college degree program.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and a strong artistic sense.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter and as part of a team.
- Strong organization and time management skills for a deadline-driven environment.
- Capacity for self-awareness, emotional maturity, and the ability to accept critique.
- Sensitivity to diverse cultures and ethnicities.
- Willingness to think creatively and learn new skills.
Location & details#
- This is a remote position.
- The role requires 10 hours of work per week with a flexible schedule.
- Compensation is funded through personal fundraising.
