About the role#
The Economic Empowerment Intern will support humanitarian programs in Louisville, Kentucky. This internship focuses on assisting with economic empowerment initiatives and providing direct support to clients as they access services. This is an unpaid position for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the implementation and daily operations of economic empowerment programs.
- Provide direct support to clients as they navigate and access available services.
- Collaborate with team members on various projects and initiatives.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all client information and records.
- Participate in required training sessions to understand program requirements and service agreements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student, or graduation within the last 12 months.
- U.S. citizenship or active, compliant visa and work authorization status in the United States.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and a willingness to learn new data entry software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong intercultural communication skills and the ability to work with diverse populations.
- Previous experience working with vulnerable populations is preferred but not required.
- Academic background or experience in Business Administration, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, or Human Resources is relevant.

- Location: Louisville, Kentucky (On-site).
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Availability: Primary availability required during business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. Mileage reimbursement is provided for personal vehicle usage during client service activities.
