About the role#
Interfor is hiring a GIS Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is an on-site, full-time position based in Castlegar or Grand Forks, British Columbia. You will work alongside forestry professionals to support sustainable forest management through a mix of fieldwork and data analysis.
What you'll do#
- Support sustainable forest management through fieldwork and GIS technology.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret forestry data using GPS and mapping tools.
- Contribute to projects that improve data quality, operational efficiency, and forest planning.
- Collaborate with employees, clients, and contractors.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a degree or diploma in Forestry, GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Agriculture, or a related program.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Exposure to GIS or GPS tools such as ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, or ArcGIS Online.
- A valid driver's licence.
