About the role#
The Global Manufacturing Engineering team supports high-speed automated production at our facility in Acton, Massachusetts. This co-op role runs from January 11, 2027, through June 30, 2027. You will work on-site with the engineering team to improve processes, reduce scrap, and validate equipment. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Support root cause analysis for failures and help solve urgent business problems with cross-functional teams.
- Perform lab testing, measurement, data analysis, and write technical reports.
- Study production equipment such as laser welders, heat staking machines, and automated assembly systems to drive improvements.
- Create tool files, setup procedures, and operating instructions.
- Prepare equipment for validation and support execution of IQ, TMV, OQ, and PQ protocols.
- Support machine builds and debugging at local supplier sites.
- Design and prototype manufacturing aids using 3D printing and SolidWorks.
- Track production line efficiency, downtime, and scrap performance.
- Prepare engineering change orders and supplier change requests.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a master’s or PhD program for mechanical, industrial, or biomedical engineering.
- Interest in manufacturing automation, metrology, and lab testing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks or Creo.
- Experience with data analysis tools like Minitab, JMP, or Excel.
