About the role#
This paid MSW internship provides a supervised learning environment focused on developing clinical and case management skills. Interns work under the guidance of a Practicum Field Instructor and Program Supervisor to provide care management and coordination services for low-income older adults and individuals with disabilities. The role involves a structured learning experience where interns co-manage a caseload alongside a Care Manager mentor.
What you'll do#
- Assist in conducting comprehensive client assessments covering psychosocial, physical, mental health, environmental, and spiritual needs.
- Support the development and implementation of client-centered care plans.
- Learn and apply knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, and other relevant entitlement programs.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, caregivers, and service providers.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, staff meetings, and assigned trainings.
- Perform field-based work, including travel to client locations for visits.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency standards.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS).
- Enrollment in an accredited MSW internship program.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and documentation systems.
- Experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with the medical and psychosocial needs of vulnerable populations is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English for client care and documentation.

- Compensation: $19.61 per hour.
