About the role#
Inova Fairfax is hiring a Respiratory Therapy Student Extern 2 for a PRN position. This role offers students an opportunity to gain clinical experience within a hospital setting while completing their education.
What you'll do#
- Assist with maintaining supplies and equipment to keep operations running smoothly.
- Collect, clean, and reassemble equipment following standard procedures.
- Perform pre-use checks on all ventilator types to ensure they are ready for patient use.
- Participate in department Quality Improvement Processes, including data collection and process development.
- Provide direct and indirect patient care activities.
- Monitor the environment to ensure patient safety and report changes to the Respiratory Therapist.
What you'll need#
- A High School diploma or equivalent.
- Active enrollment and good standing in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
- You must be in your 2nd year of a two-year program or the equivalent at a four-year program.
- Proof of enrollment via transcripts is required.
- A current BLS certification from the AHA upon your start date.
