About the role#
Friendship Retirement Community is hiring for a Student Nursing Assistant position. This is a paid training program designed to help you become a Certified Nursing Assistant. The role is full-time and requires availability for 2nd shift work upon completion of the course. We welcome students pursuing degrees in Nursing, Health Administration, Public Health, or Biomedical Sciences.
What you'll do#
You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide care for our residents. Your daily tasks include:
- Assisting residents with personal care, bathing, and bathroom functions.
- Helping residents with movement, including walking, repositioning, sitting, and standing.
- Preparing and serving meals, including providing feeding assistance.
- Maintaining accurate records of resident care and condition.
- Following individual resident care plans using the kardex for guidance.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to attend all scheduled classroom and clinical sessions.
- Ability to work 2nd shift hours (2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.).
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch throughout the day.
- Ability to lift or move objects weighing over 50 pounds.
Location & details#
This position is based in Roanoke, Virginia. The training program runs from October 26, 2026, through November 20, 2026, and is an on-site, full-time opportunity.
