About the role#
This internship is a full-time, hybrid opportunity for the Summer 2027 term. You will join the R&D team in Bridgewater, New Jersey, to support research projects focused on nature-based ingredient processing. You will evaluate unit operations, optimize process parameters, and assist with the scale-up of new products in a pilot plant environment.
What you'll do#
- Operate laboratory equipment safely to support project requirements, including potential modifications to standard procedures.
- Perform experiments in the lab and pilot plant, analyze data, and interpret results to provide recommendations to the project team.
- Define scale-up conditions and requirements for new processes and produce pilot quantities of products for evaluation.
- Maintain accurate records using an Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and other archiving databases.
- Present project status updates and final research findings to stakeholders and management.
- Conduct literature and patent searches on related technologies when necessary.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Must have completed at least two years of undergraduate coursework, with a preference for students finishing their junior year.
- Ability to work safely in a laboratory and pilot plant setting.
- Proficiency with basic computer software, including MS Office.
- Strong interpersonal and technical communication skills for writing reports and delivering presentations.
- Reliable transportation to and from the facility.
- Must possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States, as sponsorship is not available for this position.
