About the role#
This is a full-time Operations Internship for Summer 2027. You will work on-site at our facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role focuses on supporting plant operations, safety initiatives, and production efficiency while working alongside our hourly workforce.
What you'll do#
- Prioritize personal safety and the safety of all plant personnel and contractors.
- Support environmental, safety, and quality initiatives by assisting with investigations and corrective actions.
- Ensure the workforce follows all plant quality procedures and guidelines.
- Help meet plant productivity goals and production scheduling requirements.
- Remove obstacles to improve the productivity of the hourly team.
- Support maintenance requirements and cost control initiatives.
- Identify and execute improvement projects while offering new ideas.
- Foster team adaptability, flexibility, and a readiness to change.
- Lead and manage production requirements while creating an environment that encourages teamwork.
- Support employee coaching and counseling guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate coursework.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written technical communication skills.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
- Reliable transportation to and from the facility each day.
