About the role#
Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering is seeking a Water Resources Design Intern for a 12-week program during the summer of 2027. You will work alongside our water resources and environmental engineers to gain real-world experience in civil infrastructure. This internship is based in our Greenville office and involves a mix of office-based design work and field investigations.
What you'll do#
- Perform engineering calculations and develop hydrologic and hydraulic models.
- Support civil design, stream restoration, and stormwater management projects.
- Assist with environmental permitting, site assessments, and wetland delineations.
- Conduct drainage design activities for highway and bridge construction projects.
- Review design work and documents for compliance with plans and specifications.
- Participate in field investigations, including surface water, groundwater, and soil sampling.
- Help senior staff prepare technical reports and compile analytical data.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior or senior in an accredited Civil Engineering degree program.
- Proficiency with MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater management, or civil design principles.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for field tasks.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug and background screenings.
- Experience with AutoCAD or other engineering modeling software is preferred.
- Prior internship experience is a plus.
