Tourism & Operations Intern - San Francisco

About the role#

Indie Campers is seeking a Tourism & Operations Intern to join the team at the San Francisco Depot. This role is designed for students or recent graduates interested in gaining hands-on experience within the RV and campervan rental industry. You will serve as a primary point of contact for guests, managing the customer journey from arrival to departure while supporting essential operational tasks.

What you'll do#

• Manage guest check-ins and check-outs, including registration, payment processing, and explaining campervan functionalities and rental terms.
• Upsell road trip extras to enhance the customer experience.
• Align reservations with fleet availability and prepare campervans, kits, and accessories for upcoming trips.
• Perform quality control checks to maintain vehicles in top condition, identifying and addressing maintenance or repair needs.
• Support the team in monitoring inventory, coordinating the fleet, and troubleshooting daily operational issues.

What you'll need#

• Current student or recent graduate in Hospitality, Tourism, International Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Fluency in English.
• A valid driver's license for both manual and automatic vehicles.
• A valid work permit, if applicable.
• Strong customer service orientation and the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
• A problem-solving mindset and a willingness to handle hands-on operational tasks.
