About the role#
The Operations Intern will work alongside the Operations team as a junior scheduling coordinator. This role provides hands-on experience in the daily scheduling workflows that support veterinary operations. You will work under the guidance of an experienced mentor to manage Personalized Shift Matching (PSM) doctor scheduling, handle requests, and navigate scheduling exceptions.
What you'll do#
- Assist with scheduling PSM doctors in coordination with the Operations team.
- Process incoming scheduling requests and confirm placements with relevant parties.
- Manage and maintain scheduling calendars to ensure accuracy and up-to-date records.
- Identify, document, and escalate scheduling conflicts, gaps, or exceptions for resolution.
- Learn and apply scheduling tools, workflows, and communication protocols.
- Support additional operational tasks and special projects as assigned by your mentor.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Currently enrolled in a Business, Operations Management, Healthcare Administration, or related program (sophomore or above), or a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and stay calm under scheduling pressure.
- Clear, professional communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, particularly calendar tools.
- Prior experience in scheduling, coordination, administrative, or customer-facing roles is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Hybrid role with 2 days remote and 1 day in-office in Old City, Philadelphia, PA.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Schedule: 24 hours per week.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
