About the role#
The Operations Intern will work alongside the Operations team as a junior scheduling coordinator, gaining experience in day-to-day scheduling workflows. This role involves supporting the coordination of Personalized Shift Matching (PSM) doctor scheduling, managing calendars, and navigating exceptions with guidance from an Operations Mentor.
What you'll do#
- Assist with scheduling PSM doctors in coordination with the Operations team.
- Process incoming scheduling requests and confirm placements with relevant parties.
- Manage and maintain scheduling calendars to ensure accuracy and up-to-date records.
- Identify, document, and escalate scheduling conflicts, gaps, or exceptions for resolution.
- Learn and apply internal scheduling tools, workflows, and communication protocols.
- Track exception patterns and flag recurring issues to the team.
- Support additional operational tasks and special projects as assigned by your mentor.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in Business, Operations Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related program (sophomore or above), or graduation within the last 12 months.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and remain calm under scheduling pressure.
- Clear, professional communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, particularly calendar tools.
- Prior experience in scheduling, coordination, administrative, or customer-facing roles is preferred.
- Exposure to healthcare, veterinary, or staffing operations is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Old City).
- Modality: Hybrid (2 days remote, 1 day in-office per week).
- Schedule: 24 hours per week.
- Term: Summer 2026 (Starting June 1).
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
