About the role#
IMEG is hiring a Structural Engineering Intern for a full-time, paid summer program in Pensacola, Florida. This 10-12 week internship offers hands-on experience in structural design and analysis. You will work alongside experienced engineers on projects across commercial and institutional markets. The role is on-site and focuses on building technical skills through real project contributions.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the analysis, design, and implementation of structural systems.
- Apply code requirements and company standards to project design tasks.
- Coordinate design schedules with other disciplines including architectural, electrical, and mechanical teams.
- Review project documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct periodic job site observations.
- Document design decisions, meeting notes, and project instructions.
- Prepare and issue addendum information.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least 2 years toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Skills in AutoCAD or Building Information Modeling software.
- Clear oral and written communication abilities.
