About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Madison, Wisconsin. Over the course of 10 to 12 weeks, you will join our structural team to gain hands-on experience with project work and design processes. You will work alongside experienced engineers on projects across commercial and institutional markets.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the structural analysis, design, and implementation of systems for buildings and other structures.
- Help prepare design portions of projects while following company standards and building codes.
- Coordinate design and scheduling tasks with other disciplines, including architectural, electrical, and mechanical teams.
- Review project documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Perform periodic job site observations.
- Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions to maintain project records.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least 2 years toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or an equivalent program.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Skills in AutoCAD or Building Information Modeling software.
- Clear oral and written communication skills.
- A strong interest in design consulting.
