About the role#
IKO North America is hiring an Engineering Co-Op to work at our IG Machine and Fibers facility in Ashcroft, British Columbia. This full-time, paid position supports our plant operations through capital projects and strategic initiatives. You will work on-site from January through August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Manage engineering projects from initial planning through to closeout.
- Assist the engineering team with tendering, negotiation, installation, and commissioning.
- Collaborate with plant staff including engineers, supervisors, and tradespeople.
- Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) by shadowing experienced personnel.
- Prepare technical drawings and models.
- Maintain health and safety documentation.
- Optimize spare parts processes to improve maintenance efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate engineering program, such as Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
- Strong computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Critical thinking skills and a high degree of organization.
- A commitment to maintaining health and safety standards.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or SolidWorks is an asset.
- Troubleshooting capabilities are an asset.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
Location & details#
- Location: Ashcroft, British Columbia.
- Term: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: $24.50 to $27.50 per hour.
- Additional perks include flexible start times, alternating Fridays off, and options for carpooling from Kamloops or subsidized accommodation in Ashcroft.
