About the role#
This is a full-time, paid engineering internship based in Sylacauga, Alabama. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers and professionals to gain practical experience in plant operations. This position is safety sensitive and requires you to be local to the state of Alabama.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the plant maintenance team to advance reliability initiatives.
- Partner with Environmental Health and Safety to update safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Develop training programs and documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and Standard Work Instructions (SWI).
- Analyze data from the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to identify equipment failure trends.
- Execute the DNA project by linking equipment drawings to the CMMS.
What you'll need#
- Status as a Junior, Senior, or recent graduate in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or an equivalent engineering program.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, plus experience with MS Word, MS Power Point, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. AutoCAD skills are a plus.
- Strong critical thinking and organizational skills.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
- Physical ability to stand and walk frequently, work at heights occasionally, and lift up to 30 lbs unassisted.
- Troubleshooting capability is considered an asset.
