About the role#
The Market Strategy and Insights team provides industry intelligence and analytics to guide strategic decisions. As a co-op student, you will contribute to data-driven projects that support the agency's compliance and gaming oversight functions. This is a paid, full-time position for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Support technical user acceptance testing (UAT) for a data platform modernization project.
- Assist in managing and responding to inquiries from gaming operators.
- Develop automated systems to validate data quality for collection pipelines.
- Build and maintain a centralized system for departmental data storage.
- Research market trends to help generate reports.
- Design and develop PowerBI dashboards.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a post-secondary program related to Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or Data Engineering.
- Practical experience coding in SQL and Python.
- Hands-on experience building dashboards in PowerBI.
- A solid understanding of relational databases and database concepts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Critical thinking abilities and a business mindset for problem-solving.
- Status as a full-time student in a recognized co-operative education program.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Location & details#
- This role is based in North York, Ontario.
- You are required to work on-site 5 days a week.
- You must reside in Ontario for the duration of the term.
- Successful candidates will be subject to a criminal background check.
