About the role#
The Arlington County Government Economic Development Department is looking for a part-time Business Intelligence Intern. You will support the Business Investment Group with research, communications, and event coordination. This role is ideal for an organized individual interested in entrepreneurship, technology, and economic development.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research on companies, industries, and emerging technologies to support business attraction priorities.
- Develop and maintain target company lists, datasets, and research summaries for business development strategies.
- Draft social media content, newsletters, and educational materials for communications initiatives.
- Plan and execute meetings and events, including preparing agendas, presentations, and briefing materials.
- Manage logistics for stakeholder engagement and follow-up activities.
- Maintain and update records in Salesforce to track outreach and business development activities.
- Provide administrative support for special projects and internal coordination.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two years (60 semester hours) in a Bachelor's degree program.
- Less than one year of professional-level work experience in the internship field.
- Pursuit of a degree in Business Administration, Economics, Public Policy, International Relations, Marketing, or Communications.
- Familiarity with LinkedIn, Salesforce, or digital communication tools.
- Preference for a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Location & details#
- Location: Arlington, Virginia.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time, maximum of 15 hours per week.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship and is eligible for sick leave.
- Selection process: A pre-employment criminal records check is required, covering criminal, driving, education, licensure, and credit history.
