About the role#
As a Field Engineer Intern, you will work alongside Superintendents and Carpenters to gain practical experience in construction management and field operations. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Madison, Wisconsin.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate with subcontractors and project managers to keep tasks on schedule.
- Construct, install, and remodel structures using wood, laminates, and steel with hand and power tools.
- Review subcontractor scopes of work and evaluate shop drawings.
- Manage punch list and warranty items.
- Support quality control by helping develop punch lists and verifying completed work.
- Contribute to project schedules and safety initiatives.
- Build relationships with clients and subcontractors.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Civil Engineering or Construction Management program.
- Previous internship experience in design-build or construction is preferred.
- Leadership experience in student organizations or extracurriculars.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Initiative, curiosity, and strong communication skills.
