About the role#
ICF is hiring for a full-time, 10-week Energy Markets and Policy internship for Summer 2027. This role begins in early June 2027. You will work on multiple projects alongside staff to develop solutions in the power, gas, renewable energy, and climate planning sectors. This is a paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Perform quantitative and economic analysis of energy and environmental markets.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of proprietary models and databases.
- Evaluate the impact of future regulations and support client strategies to manage change.
- Write analysis for corporate and government client deliverables.
- Develop research synthesis reports, industry benchmarking, and policy summaries.
- Assist with business development and marketing through market research, data analysis, and content creation.
What you'll need#
- A minimum of 30 completed college-level credit hours by the start date in Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, Operations Management, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to Federal contracts.
- Strong analytical skills, specifically in Microsoft Excel.
- Basic knowledge of R, Python, or other coding languages.
- Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate them to non-technical personnel.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Working knowledge of US energy markets, policies, and technology.
- A strong interest in energy economics, energy finance, climate, greenhouse gas accounting, and operations research.
- Preference is given to those with a completed bachelor's degree or those with at least 9 credit hours of completed graduate-level coursework in relevant fields.
