About the role#
IBM Quantum builds utility scale quantum computer systems that use superconducting qubits. These systems operate at 10mK in dilution refrigerators and rely on room temperature electronics (RTE) to produce microwave pulses. We are looking for an intern to join our team in Poughkeepsie to assist with the deployment and maintenance of these systems.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to RTE deployments and help build out RTE systems.
- Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.
- Suggest improvements to enhance system reliability and stability.
- Work on the qualification, setup, and operation of Chiller Distribution Units that provide temperature control for system components.
What you'll need#
- Current studies in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in electrical control setups.
- Experience in the test and validation of control setups.
- A background in troubleshooting complex systems.
- An interest in working with quantum control systems.
- Knowledge of microwave circuits and associated test equipment.
- Understanding of classical control and readout of quantum circuits.
- Familiarity with circuit design and testing.
