About the role#
As a Compliance Software Developer Intern, you will join the IBM Infrastructure team to build AI agents that solve business problems. You will work with technologies like watsonx Orchestrate, Python, and TypeScript to create tools that automate tasks and improve efficiency. This role involves contributing to real projects from your first day, collaborating with engineers and AI practitioners, and learning how software moves from concept to production.
What you'll do#
- Design and build AI-powered solutions using watsonx Orchestrate, knowledge bases, and MCP servers.
- Develop software using Python and TypeScript.
- Create AI agents to automate repetitive tasks.
- Build integrations using APIs, cloud services, and enterprise platforms.
- Apply software development best practices, including source control, testing, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to deliver solutions.
- Explore emerging AI technologies and evaluate their use in business challenges.
- Present your work and contribute to team technical discussions.
- Learn the full lifecycle of software development, deployment, and production support.
What you'll need#
- Experience with software development in Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar technologies.
- Experience using Git or other version control systems.
- Interest in Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, or Agentic AI.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience building applications that interact with APIs.
- Exposure to relational or NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines or automation tools.
- Coursework or projects involving AI, machine learning, semantic search, vector databases, or intelligent applications.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices.
- Basic understanding of front-end development principles.
- Interest in L3 support engineering and debugging techniques.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
