About the role#
IBM is looking for a Back-End Developer Intern to join the team in Tucson. You will work on the IBM Power brand of enterprise computer systems. This role focuses on the development of firmware, hypervisors, operating systems, and systems management. You will also work on AI hardware enablement.
What you'll do#
- Solve complex technical problems.
- Envision and build new solutions.
- Experiment with new ideas to improve system performance.
- Help customers make decisions with greater speed.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Programming skills in Python or C/C++ from coursework, projects, or internships.
- Interest in low level coding, operating systems, and application development.
- Coursework or experience in Operating Systems and Algorithms/Data Structures.
- Knowledge of Databases and SQL.
- Experience with software testing and unit test development.
- Familiarity with APIs, virtualization concepts, and cloud operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Git or other source control systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI and Machine Learning frameworks is a plus.
- Experience contributing to open source projects.
