About the role#
This internship offers an introduction to the Contract Surety business unit at IAT Insurance Group. You will gain exposure to how an underwriting department functions while working alongside subject matter experts. The program runs for 10 weeks, from May 24, 2027, through July 30, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Attend educational sessions led by the underwriting team and product or claim experts.
- Establish individual goals and track your progress throughout the summer.
- Apply underwriting concepts to real accounts and present your findings.
- Develop and deliver a capstone project to your peers and the underwriting team.
What you'll need#
- Standing as a rising undergraduate senior pursuing a degree in Finance, Mathematics, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or Risk Management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems.
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A willingness to learn financial analysis.
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Plano, Texas. You must be able to work from this office without relocation or housing assistance.
- The position follows a hybrid schedule. You will work from the office Monday through Wednesday, with the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday.
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
