About the role#
As a Cost Strategy Intern at iA, you will gain hands-on experience supporting cost accounting and manufacturing finance processes. This role is based in Johnson City, New York, and runs for 10 weeks from June 1, 2027, through August 6, 2027. You will work on-site to support inventory accuracy, variance analysis, and month-end closing activities.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the daily review of cost data responsibility reports to support accurate accounting activities.
- Review manufacturing variances and From/To postings to identify trends and discrepancies.
- Support weekly cycle count audits and inventory reconciliations.
- Participate in month-end cost close activities, including Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Percentage of Completion (POC) analysis.
- Partner with the Cost Accounting, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to support reporting and continuous improvement efforts.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with data, reconciliations, and reporting tools.
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills with an interest in cost accounting and manufacturing finance.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to summarize findings clearly.
