About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship within the IT department. You will assist with infrastructure updates and maintenance for our systems. The role runs from mid-May through mid-August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Perform updates to existing infrastructure, including work with Active Directory.
- Stage and deploy workstations.
- Complete maintenance tasks on network system devices.
- Perform software updates and various system maintenance.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and communicate findings to supporting staff.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward or recently finished a degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of network devices like switches, firewalls, and routers.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and peripherals.
- Familiarity with imaging and applying updates to servers and workstations.
- Basic knowledge of a scripting language such as Bash or PowerShell.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems and handle multiple tasks.
Location & details#
- Location: West Des Moines, Iowa.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, up to or exceeding 40 hours per week.
- Travel: This role requires travel and overnight stays. Travel expenses are reimbursed.
- Requirements: Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen. You must be able to perform light work, including lifting up to 20 pounds.
