About the role#
This is a 12-week paid summer internship based in Corvallis, Oregon. You will join our team to support ink chemistry and materials engineering projects. This role focuses on ink formulation, product quality, manufacturing scalability, and supply assurance. You will work alongside R&D, manufacturing, and supplier teams to solve technical challenges and improve our products.
What you'll do#
- Formulate and reformulate inks to meet performance, quality, and supply requirements.
- Design and run experiments involving pigments, polymers, colloids, and nanoparticle suspensions.
- Support the scale-up and transfer of new formulations from R&D to manufacturing.
- Evaluate material changes, quality concerns, and potential supply risks.
- Document your experimental results and share technical findings with the team.
- Use data analysis, project management, and AI-assisted tools to manage project execution.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
- Full-time enrollment at an accredited university.
- Academic, laboratory, or research experience with pigment chemistry, polymers, colloids, or nanoparticle suspensions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- No more than 24 months of prior professional work experience related to this role.
- Must be able to obtain work authorization in the United States for 2027 and not require sponsorship in the future.
