Data Engineering Intern (Fall 2026)

About the role#

Hone is seeking a Data Engineering Intern to join our data team for the Fall 2026 term. Reporting to the Senior Director of Data, Analytics & Machine Learning, you will work closely with engineers, analysts, and product teams to support the design, development, and maintenance of data systems. This is a hands-on role focused on building scalable data pipelines and analytics-ready datasets within a modern cloud-native environment.

What you'll do#

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Microsoft Fabric.
• Integrate data from multiple internal and external sources to ensure quality and consistency.
• Develop and maintain data models and transformations using dbt.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
• Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot data infrastructure to ensure performance and scalability.
• Participate in version control and CI/CD workflows using GitHub and Azure DevOps.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Strong foundational knowledge of SQL and experience querying relational databases.
• Proficiency in Python and a strong interest in distributed data processing.
• Understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, or analytics engineering concepts.
• Exposure to or coursework involving data pipeline orchestration or ETL development.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional environment.
