About the role#
This is a summer 2027 internship position for current or recently completed HNTB interns. You will work on infrastructure projects by assisting with design calculations, technical reports, and engineering plans. This role involves performing research and development for project designs while working alongside the project team. You must complete all assigned work within the established schedule.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the production and modification of design calculations and project reports.
- Support the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates.
- Help engineering teams organize and manage design files.
- Conduct research, data collection, and field investigations.
- Perform various tasks to support the development and design of projects.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Status as a current or recently completed HNTB intern.
- Knowledge of engineering techniques and design criteria.
- Ability to assist in technical report preparation.
- Research and data collection skills.

- Locations: Oakland, CA and San Jose, CA.
