About the role#
This internship is part of the Vehicle Engineering group within the National Transit and Rail Team. You will gain experience in the procurement, modification, and support of various vehicles, including light rail, heavy rail, commuter rail locomotives, buses, and zero-emission vehicles. This is a full-time position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering teams with daily tasks and project duties.
- Support research, development, and design efforts.
- Help prepare engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Handle other assigned duties as needed.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program.
- Basic understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Ability to perform basic calculations and organize information for project documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication, teamwork, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Completion of at least 2 years of an engineering program is preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation is preferred.
- A strong interest in transportation and infrastructure is preferred.
