About the role#
As a Structures Intern Engineer, you will assist our teams with the design and analysis of structural elements and systems, such as bridges and retaining walls. You will work alongside experienced engineers to evaluate project requirements, constraints, and design criteria. This position is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the research, development, and design of infrastructure projects.
- Perform structural calculations and verify design integrity using analysis software.
- Prepare design drawings, project estimates, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Conduct site visits and surveys to gather data and assess existing conditions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural design elements.
- Participate in design review meetings and contribute to quality control processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program (Civil or Mechanical Engineering preferred).
- Completion of at least 2 years of an engineering program is preferred.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and organize information for project documents.
- Understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Ability to accept and apply direction from peers and supervisors.
- Familiarity with introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures.

- This role is based on-site in Boston, Massachusetts, and Chelmsford, Massachusetts.
- The position is full-time for the Summer 2027 term.
