About the role#
This position is for current or former HNTB interns only. You will provide daily inspection of routine activities performed by contractors to monitor compliance with project plans, specifications, and contract provisions. This role focuses on smaller, standard, and less complex projects. You will maintain daily logs and review any discrepancies with the Field Engineer.
What you'll do#
- Observe, document, and verify work in progress to ensure it meets contract requirements.
- Confirm that procedures are followed and materials conform to specifications.
- Use engineering inspection practices to perform standard mathematical calculations and measure completed work.
- Maintain an inspector's daily report of work activities, including contractor labor, equipment, and material quantities.
- Perform on-site material testing and produce as-constructed sketches.
- Identify, document, and escalate changed conditions or conflicts within project documents.
- Calculate pay quantities and provide feedback on project schedules.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Three years of construction related experience.
- All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements.
- Ability to operate relevant testing equipment.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer use.
