About the role#
This position is exclusively for current or former HNTB interns returning for the Fall 2026, Winter 2027, or Summer 2027 terms. You will support engineering teams by performing basic tasks that align with standard post-secondary engineering curricula. This is a full-time, paid, on-site role.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering teams with various project tasks and duties.
- Support the research, development, and design phases of projects.
- Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by project leads.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Environmental).
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Foundational understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and organize information for technical documentation.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to accept and apply direction from peers and supervisors.

This role is available at the following locations: Milwaukee and Ashwaubenon, WI; Valparaiso, Indianapolis, and Westfield, IN; Sterling Heights, East Lansing, Jackson, Detroit, Allen Park, and Grand Rapids, MI; Cleveland, Columbus, and Blue Ash, OH; Chicago and Downers Grove, IL; Minneapolis, MN; and Madison, WI. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
