About the role#
HNTB is seeking interns for the Summer 2027 term to support our structural and architectural engineering teams. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship. We are looking for students who are proactive and willing to explore design challenges. This role is available in Kansas City, Los Angeles, and Seattle.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering teams with daily tasks and project duties.
- Help with the research, development, and design phases of various projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Perform basic engineering calculations.
- Organize information for use in drawings and other project documentation.
- Apply direction from peers and supervisors to complete assigned tasks.
- Gain an understanding of shop drawing and submittal procedures.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program, preferably in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
- A basic understanding of geometric, algebraic, and engineering principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Preferred skills include experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and coursework in structural analysis or material design.
