About the role#
HNTB is hiring Intern Engineers for Summer 2027 to work in our Baton Rouge and New Orleans offices. This role focuses on supporting our Roadway, Bridge, and Civil Works teams. You will gain experience by performing engineering tasks that align with standard post-secondary curriculum. This is a full-time, paid internship. Please note that relocation and housing are not provided.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering teams with daily tasks and project duties.
- Help with the research, development, and design of infrastructure projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings and related documents.
- Perform basic engineering calculations.
- Organize information for use in technical drawings and documents.
- Apply direction from peers and supervisors to complete assigned work.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program (Civil, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering).
- A basic understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- We prefer candidates who have completed at least two years of their engineering program and have experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
