About the role#
HNTB is seeking a Civil Engineering intern for the Summer 2027 term in Atlanta, Georgia. This full-time role supports our teams in areas including Roadway Design, Bridge and Structures Design, Transit Planning, Traffic, and ITS. You will work on various engineering tasks that reflect standard post-secondary curriculum.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering teams with daily tasks and duties.
- Support research, development, and design efforts for active projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings and documents.
- Perform other engineering-related tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program.
- Basic understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and organize information for project documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to accept and apply direction from peers and supervisors.
- Understanding of introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures.
We prefer candidates who have completed at least two years of an engineering program. Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation and a strong interest in transportation and infrastructure are also helpful.
