About the role#
We are hiring Intern Engineers for our Structures and Roadway departments for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in North Charleston or Columbia, South Carolina. You will perform basic engineering tasks that reflect elements of standard post-secondary curriculum while supporting our project teams.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering teams with daily tasks and project duties.
- Assist with the research, development, and design of infrastructure projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings and documents as assigned.
- Handle other duties as needed to support the team.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program.
- A strong interest in transportation and infrastructure.
- Basic understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and organize information for project documentation.
- A willingness to accept and apply direction from peers and supervisors.
- Familiarity with introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures.
We prefer candidates who have completed at least two years of an engineering program and have experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
