About the role#
We are looking for Intern Engineers to join our Structures and Roadway teams for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in either South Portland, Maine, or Bedford, New Hampshire. You will work alongside our engineering teams to support infrastructure projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering teams with daily tasks and project duties.
- Help with the research, development, and design of various projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings and documents as assigned.
- Perform other engineering-related duties as needed.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program.
- A basic understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- The ability to perform basic engineering calculations and organize information for project documents.
- An understanding of introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures.
- A willingness to accept and apply direction from supervisors and peers.
We prefer candidates who have completed at least two years of a civil engineering program. Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation and a strong interest in transportation and infrastructure are also preferred.

- Compensation: The approximate pay range for positions in Maine is $21.07 to $31.60 per hour. Actual pay depends on individual qualifications, skills, and specific work location.
