About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to support engineering departments and project teams in North Carolina. You will work on tasks related to structures, roadway, traffic, rail, water resources, and construction. This is a paid, full-time position for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineer teams with daily tasks and project duties.
- Help with research, development, and design work for various projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings and documents.
- Perform basic engineering calculations.
- Organize information for use in technical drawings and reports.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program.
- Basic understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to accept and apply direction from supervisors and peers.
- Knowledge of introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures.
We prefer candidates who have completed at least two years of an engineering program. Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation and a strong interest in transportation and infrastructure are also preferred.
