About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will work on-site at one of our New Jersey offices to assist engineering teams with project research, development, and design. This role provides exposure to standard engineering tasks and supports various departments including Structures, Construction Services, Highways, Water Resources, Program Management, CAD, Tolls, ITS/Traffic, and Electrical.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering teams with daily tasks and project duties.
- Help with the research, development, and design of infrastructure projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings and documents as assigned.
- Perform basic engineering calculations and organize information for project documentation.
- Learn introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program, specifically in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- A basic understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to accept and apply direction from supervisors and peers.
- We prefer candidates who have completed at least two years of an engineering program.
- Knowledge of MicroStation or AutoCAD is a plus, as is a strong interest in transportation and infrastructure.
Location & details#
- Positions are available in Parsippany, Fairfield, Cherry Hill, Woodbury, Newark, and Princeton, New Jersey.
- This is a full-time, on-site role.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- The pay range for this role in New Jersey is approximately $23.18 to $37.92 per hour, depending on experience and location.
