About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to support engineering teams in the Chicago office. You will work on tasks related to Roadway Design and Bridge Design projects. This is a paid, full-time position for the Summer 2027 term. Please note that relocation and housing assistance are not provided.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering teams with daily tasks and project duties.
- Support research, development, and design efforts for infrastructure projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Perform basic engineering calculations.
- Organize project information for use in drawings and reports.
- Apply direction from peers and supervisors to complete assignments.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program, specifically in Civil, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Familiarity with introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures.
- Completion of at least 2 years of an engineering program is preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation is preferred.
