About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 within the Environmental Planning group. You will provide planning support throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept development to final completion. Your work involves research, data analysis, and the preparation of project materials while ensuring compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
What you'll do#
- Support project team members with day-to-day tasks.
- Conduct basic research and collect data.
- Maintain project-specific files, records, and collections.
- Assist in creating graphics, reports, and presentation materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program related to Environmental Engineering or Urban Planning.
- Experience with GIS map development and tools.
- Ability to analyze demographic and environmental data.
- Knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, and other state and federal environmental regulations.
- Experience with environmental report preparation and regulatory permitting.
- Skill in calculating environmental impacts for transportation projects.
- Proficiency in technical writing and summarizing reports.
- Experience with field work and data gathering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Locations: Raleigh, NC; North Charleston, SC; or Columbia, SC.
- Modality: On-site.
