About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will work within the Design Build Department in Kansas City, Missouri. This role involves working under close supervision to assist with plan preparation and drawing production. It is an on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Use computer aided drafting and design software to create construction details, design plans, reports, and meeting exhibits.
- Transfer information from survey data, legal descriptions, aerial photographs, and computer files into final maps and plans.
- Illustrate and visualize design concepts in 2D or 3D.
- Apply mathematical skills, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, to your tasks.
- Follow detailed procedures to complete assigned duties.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary program, specifically in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- A strong interest in infrastructure and transportation projects.
- One year of relevant experience is preferred.
