About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to support the Design Build department in Kansas City. You will work alongside engineering teams on infrastructure projects, assisting with research, design, and documentation. This is a paid, full-time summer position for 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering teams with daily tasks and project duties.
- Help with the research, development, and design of various projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings and documents as assigned.
- Perform basic engineering calculations.
- Learn introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures.
- Organize information for use in technical documents.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program (Civil, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to apply engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Ability to accept and apply direction from supervisors and peers.
- Completion of two years of a post-secondary engineering program is preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation is a plus.
